BACKGROUND

        The nucleus of the faculty is Industrial Arts Teacher Training College established by the Ministry of Education under the agreement dated 14 March 1974. The period of instruction which was three years at the time of establishment became four years in 1975. The Industrial Arts Teachers training college was composed of three departments: Department of Home Economy, Department of Work and Technical Training and Department of Business Education. The College kept that structure up to 1982.

        The Faculty became part of the Faculty of Vocational Education on the 20th of July, 1982 as the Department of Technology Education. In 1988, Computer Education program was added to the available programs. Finally, the faculty has been restructured with its new departments under the law dated 3rd of July, 1992 and enumerated 3837 as the Faculty of Industrial Arts Education. Our Faculty has the qualification of being the only institution providing Work Education Teacher in the country.
