The Department of
Business Education was part of Industrial Arts Teacher Training College
which was the nucleus of the Faculty of Industrial Arts Education when
it was established.
The basic aim of this
department is to train teachers for the courses in the field of Commerce
and agriculture within the scope of Work Education course. The aims set
by the department are to develop skill in problem-solving,
decision-making, producing, communicating, creating, innovating which
lead to skills related to the administration of time, money and human
resources.
The department has 2
Professors, 1 Associate Professor, 7 Assistant Professors, 1 lecturer
and 3 Research Assistants at the service of 256 students.
Contemporary
management education aims not only at teaching techniques of the
profession but also at developing a perspective appropriate to new
situations. Within this frame the four-year undergraduate program of our
department is composed of general knowledge, pedagogical formation and
specific courses of the field. The techniques and approaches with regard
to business education are given in theoretical and practice teaching and
pedagogical formation while technical skills necessary for a teacher are
given in mathematics, statistics, computer practice, etc. The main field
