The Industrial
Technology Education program is designed to prepare students
for a teaching career mainly in secondary schools. The
transformation to technology education continues to provide
all students with basic knowledge and skills needed for modern
technology. Holding curriculums at B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.
levels, the Department provides courses on common concepts of
Industrial Technology Education and relevant practices. Within
this framework, students are trained in multi discipline
conformity.
Technology
Education is a hands-on program using an investigative,
design-and-construct, problem solving approach to teaching.
Facilities include the workshops of power and energy,
woodworks, metal works, electrics, electronics, graphics,
offset, ceramics and serigraphy as well as computer labs.
Apart from these, students can improve their skills and
experience towards a specific field by means of projects,
optional field courses and graduation thesis. Most graduates
of this program are employed as technology teachers at the
secondary and the post-secondary level schools. Almost all
graduates could be assigned as Technology Teacher in secondary
schools, post-secondary schools and vocational schools after
the completion of the program. The flexibility of the program
opens the doors of many other occupational opportunities such
as professional positions in business and industry. Generally,
graduates utilize their educational and technical expertise
for the interdisciplinary professions in industry.
Academic staff
includes 2 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors, 7
Lecturers and 4 Research Assistants. Department offers 4 year
bachelor’s program. During this period, besides the general
culture and educational formation courses, the field courses
are given under four different divisions as mentioned below:
